The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward is looking to clinch but Adams is avoiding it.
Adams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ward moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ward will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Adams misses with a looping left.
Adams scores with a body shot.
Adams avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ward takes one on the button.
It looks like Palmer Ward has been cut.
Adams drops his hands momentarily and Ward takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Adams thows a body shot but no joy.
Ward throws a left and a right that both miss
and Adams counters with a three punch combo that has Ward backing up. Ward nods at Adams to acknowledge the strikes.
Ward is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ward uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Adams.
Adams has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Adams there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nice defenses there by Ward.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ward tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Adams paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A big left from Adams misses.
A big right from Adams misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Adams. Ward does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ward connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Adams looks to throw the jab but Ward is out of range.
Adams tries to bum rush Ward with a series of wild strikes but Ward uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Palmer Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ward has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Adams is leaning against Ward and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Adams wants to get back to striking at distance but Ward won't allow it.
Adams breaks the clinch.
Ward moves to clinch but Adams breaks away
letting Adams counter with a right hand.
Adams lands with an overhand left.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Adams tries to bum rush Ward with a series of wild strikes but Ward uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Adams circles away from the clinch attempt.
Adams throws a hook to the side of Ward's head but Ward sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Adams looks to land a combination but Ward avoids it well.
Adams drops Ward with a big left hand and mounts him. Ward is in big trouble!
Ward is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adams lands a big shot to the head and Ward winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
