Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zak Houk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Redd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redd has chosen BIG SHIT POPPIN TI as his entrance music. Zak Houk has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zak Houk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Erik Redd! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redd fails with a takedown attempt. Redd shoots in looking for a takedown but Houk manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Redd's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Houk throws a right and a left that Redd avoids nicely. Redd fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Zak Houk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erik Redd. Houk throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Redd shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Houk as he avoids it easily. Redd tries to score a power double leg takedown but Houk sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Redd somewhat. Redd misses with a takedown attempt and Houk counters with a two punch combo. Houk darts in and clinches Redd up against the cage. Houk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Redd is defended easily by Houk. Erik Redd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Houk misses with a few strikes there.
Redd shoots for a double leg takedown but Houk sprawls well. He's pushed Redd's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Redd looks gassed! Houk tries to bum rush Redd with a series of wild strikes but Redd uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Redd fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Houk avoids it really well and circles away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Redd shoots in looking for a takedown. Houk tries to sprawl out of it but Redd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Houk manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Houk misses with a two punch combination.
Houk plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Houk leaves Redd with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Houk scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Redd is rocked! Houk connects with a stiff jab that staggers Redd - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Zak Houk! Zak Houk bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
