PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roy Pitbull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karim Chamakh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chamakh has chosen Immortal - Unearthly Kingdom as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy Pitbull!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Karim Chamakh!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitbull lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Chamakh moves away from the strike by Pitbull.
Horrible takedown by Chamakh or perhaps it was just good defense by Pitbull which made him look bad.
Chamakh shoots in for a takedown but Pitbull shows good takedown defense.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The referee asks Chamakh politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Chamakh prefers to stall for the moment though.

Chamakh is nestled in close to Pitbull, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that Roy Pitbull will probably get the nod.

Chamakh closes the distance and clinches up with Pitbull, looking for a takedown. Chamakh pushes Pitbull against the ropes but Pitbull circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Pitbull stalks Chamakh and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Chamakh's face. Chamakh staggers backwards, shaken.
