Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rony Mariano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mariano might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to So Far Away. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rony Mariano !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mariano shoots for a takedown but Wallace saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mariano shoots for a double leg takedown but Wallace sprawls well. He's pushed Mariano 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Wallace scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Wallace tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mariano knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mariano has hold of Wallace's hands but Wallace slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Wallace looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Wallace not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Mariano slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Wallace content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Mariano is looking for a sweep. Wallace is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mariano has hold of Wallace's hands but Wallace slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Mariano is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wallace pulls his head out easily.
Wallace is pressing down on Mariano 's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mariano is holding on for now.
Wallace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mariano . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mariano wants to control but Wallace is keeping busy.

Wallace is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Wallace is pressing down on Mariano 's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mariano is holding on for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wallace is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mariano has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mariano has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wallace is working away from the top position though.
Mariano won't allow Wallace to pass to mount.

Mariano kicks off Wallace and gets to his feet.
Rony Mariano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mariano stuffs the takedown.

Wallace drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Wallace avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Mariano has his foot on Wallace's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wallace works his way back into a safe position though.
Mariano is breathing heavily.
Wallace throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mariano lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wallace!
Wallace is working to get back to half guard.
Wallace is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Mariano goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Wallace turns into him and now he's in Mariano 's guard.

Wallace thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Wallace connects with a couple of short punches.

Wallace drops back looking for a leg! Mariano is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mariano manages to kick Wallace off! Wallace jumps back into Mariano 's guard.

Wallace thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Mariano is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wallace stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Mariano throws up his legs and catches Wallace in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Wallace tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Mariano ! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Rony Mariano !
