Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Red Belt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Rico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Red Belt!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johnny Rico!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belt dives in and grabs Rico's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rico pushes down on Belt's head and hops out.
Rico lands a nice shot to the body.
Rico leaves Belt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Belt shoots in for a takedown but Rico shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Red Belt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Belt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rico.
Rico stuffs the takedown attempt from Belt. Belt gets slowly back to his feet.
Belt shoots in and drives through. Rico sprawls well.
Belt dives in and grabs Rico's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rico pushes down on Belt's head and hops out.

Belt shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rico napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Belt wants to control but Rico is keeping him busy.

Rico is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Belt misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
A lull in the action here as Belt stalls from top position.
The strikes coming from Belt are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Belt sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rico is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Belt looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Belt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Belt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rico is working to avoid the ground and pound but Belt connects with a decent elbow.

Belt is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rico has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rico really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Belt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Belt is chipping away with strikes.

Belt working away.
Belt in side control, throwing shots but Rico defends.

Belt is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rico is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Belt is looking to take a break and control but Rico is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rico defending against the ground and pound.

Rico struggling a bit here.
Belt in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Belt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rico, who protects the arm well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Belt is chipping away with strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Belt postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Belt tries for a kimura but Rico is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Red Belt dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Belt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rico but Rico pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Belt fails in his attempt to clinch.
Red Belt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Belt dives in and grabs Rico's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rico pushes down on Belt's head and hops out.

Rico tries to sprawl but Belt drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Belt not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Rico wants to get back to his feet.
Belt throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rico pushes Belt off looking to stand but Belt dives back in and keeps control.
Ground and pound from Belt.
Belt perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rico is in trouble now - Belt has advanced to mount!
Belt is landing with some decent strikes but Rico is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Belt working for a guillotine from mount but Rico is in no mood to give up.

Belt is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rico can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Belt lands a nice shot to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Belt has isolated one of Rico's arms. Rico looking to fight him off but Belt twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Red Belt!
Red Belt retains his middleweight title!
