PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between King D Sailo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ate Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, King D Sailo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ate Guy!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sailo clinches.
Guy looking to throw knees to the head but Sailo is blocking nicely.
Guy scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Sailo looking to slow down the pace here.
Guy gets through Sailo's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Guy tries to land a knee to the head but Sailo blocks with his arms.
Guy lands with a short shot to the head.
Sailo goes for a takedown attempt but Guy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sailo moves in looking to clinch but Guy pushes him off.

Sailo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sailo lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Guy holds on and takes a little breather.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sailo wants to stand but Guy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Guy is working an open guard so Sailo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Sailo or perhaps it was just good defense by Guy which made him look bad.

Guy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Sailo manages to get to full guard.
Sailo doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Sailo scrambles and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sailo slips a jab and a cross from Guy.
Guy looks to land a combination but Sailo avoids it well.
Guy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sailo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for King D Sailo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sailo fails to land the takedown.

Guy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Guy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Guy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sailo manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Sailo gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Sailo tries to clinch up.
Sailo slips a jab from Guy.
Guy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sailo circles away quickly and effectively.

Guy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Guy looks gassed!
Sailo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sailo is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sailo wants to hold on but Guy pushes him away.
Guy misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Sailo sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sailo is pressing down on Guy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sailo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Guy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sailo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sailo is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Sailo manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Guy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sailo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sailo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Guy's best efforts.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sailo throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are battling for position here. Sailo manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Sailo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Guy doesn't defend quickly enough and Sailo has managed to lock this one up! Can Guy escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Sailo on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). King D Sailo!
During a confident post fight interview, King D Sailo thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
