Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Finch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Straight Out of Line. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Finch! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lyoto Machida! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machida throws a low kick but Finch avoids it. Machida throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Finch. Machida fails to land with a series of punches.
Finch displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Machida throws out the jab. Some wild striking there from Machida.
Finch fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Machida, pushing him back against the cage. Finch jumps guard and drags Machida to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Machida preventing the sweep. Finch throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Machida wants to get up but he can't break Finch's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Finch working for a triangle but Machida defends it easily.
Machida sitting in guard here, content to control. Machida must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Finch holds on and takes a little breather. Finch working for a triangle but Machida defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machida would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Finch pulls Machida in close to his closed guard and prevents Machida from doing any damage or advancing position. Finch trying to keep a closed guard but Machida is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Finch looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Finch working for a triangle but Machida defends it easily.
Finch wants to sweep here but Machida controlling him for the moment. Finch is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Machida is trying to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Finch not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Finch sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Machida defending well though. Finch lands with a punch from half guard. Finch passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Machida! Finch has hold of Machida's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Machida manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Machida is wriggling around trying to escape.
Finch throwing strikes here but Machida is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Finch dominated that round. That's time! Finch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Machida connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Finch momentarily.
