Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Daniel Darnelczyk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Serra! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Darnelczyk connects with a high kick. Serra uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Darnelczyk has time to react. Darnelczyk takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Serra fails in his attempt to clinch. Darnelczyk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Serra manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Darnelczyk throwing shots but Serra is blocking nicely. Darnelczyk wants to free his trapped foot but Serra is holding on for dear life with his legs. Serra tries to roll over but Darnelczyk keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Serra wants to get back to his feet.
Darnelczyk decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Serra. Darnelczyk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Serra's guard. Serra is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Darnelczyk advances to half guard. Darnelczyk is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Serra doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Darnelczyk. Serra wants to control but Darnelczyk is keeping busy.
Serra is staying active underneath Darnelczyk, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Serra wants to get back to full guard. Darnelczyk missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Serra looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Serra fails with the takedown and Darnelczyk counters with a driving takedown into guard. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Darnelczyk closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Darnelczyk wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Serra, who protects the arm well. Darnelczyk wants to control but Serra is keeping him busy. Darnelczyk goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Serra rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Darnelczyk's guard! Nice work there by Serra!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Serra throws a big right hand that misses. Darnelczyk looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Serra puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Darnelczyk manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Darnelczyk looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Serra should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Darnelczyk regains full guard. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Darnelczyk dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Darnelczyk keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Serra connects with a jab. Darnelczyk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Darnelczyk shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Darnelczyk showed some decent athleticism there. Serra trying to hold on to Darnelczyk's head to control him but Darnelczyk postures up.
Darnelczyk wants to stand but Serra has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Serra preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

He's hooked one of Darnelczyk's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Darnelczyk's back! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Serra avoiding Darnelczyk 's attempts to control his hands. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A bit of a pause in the action here. Serra controlling the positon. Oooh a big shot gets through from Serra. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Serra has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Darnelczyk has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
You can see the frustration on Darnelczyk's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Serra avoids the attempt from Darnelczyk to control. Darnelczyk is looking to get to half guard. Serra looking to ground and pound but Darnelczyk is blocking nicely. Darnelczyk throwing hammer fists to the chest of Serra. What's that going to do exactly? Daniel Darnelczyk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Darnelczyk working to try and regain half guard.

Matt Serra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Serra is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Darnelczyk gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Darnelczyk lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Serra has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Darnelczyk gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Serra uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Darnelczyk has time to react. Darnelczyk gets in close and instigates a clinch. Darnelczyk gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Serra regains guard.
Darnelczyk wants to control from the top but Serra keeps moving. Darnelczyk is pushing down on Serra's leg trying to pass to half guard. Serra is fighting to maintain full guard but Darnelczyk has managed to sneak the leg through. Darnelczyk is working for a submission of some sort.
Darnelczyk frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Serra tries to lock up and control but Darnelczyk gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Darnelczyk lands with some strikes. Darnelczyk goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Serra turns into him and now he's in Darnelczyk's guard.
Darnelczyk bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Serra's guard. Serra working a defensive guard but Darnelczyk manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Darnelczyk postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Darnelczyk misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Serra manages to get back to half guard. Serra regains full guard. Nicely done. Serra working a defensive guard here.
Darnelczyk stands up and waves to Serra to follow him. Darnelczyk rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Serra moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Darnelczyk showed his dominance in that final round. I think Darnelczyk has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
