Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mayuri Tatsuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Ernst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Mayuri Tatsuki! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Ernst! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tatsuki misses with a low kick. Tatsuki moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Tatsuki scores with a nice right hand.
Tatsuki moves out of range as Ernst strikes. Tatsuki throws a body kick that misses. Tatsuki connects with a body shot that sends Ernst's belly button to the back. Ernst chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tatsuki can pounce on him.
Tatsuki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ernst throws out the jab. Tatsuki connects with a solid leg kick. Ernst gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ernst lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tatsuki circles away quickly and effectively. Ernst is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tatsuki. Tatsuki swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ernst. Tatsuki scores with a jab to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action! Tatsuki misses with a double jab.
Ernst with a lazy takedown attempt and Tatsuki decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ernst's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Tatsuki trying to control the position from guard on top but Ernst is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ernst is trying to control the position but Tatsuki postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tatsuki trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Tatsuki trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ernst is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tatsuki trying to control the position from guard on top but Ernst is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tatsuki passes into half guard.

Tatsuki missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Tatsuki trying to control from half guard but Ernst is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ernst kicks off Tatsuki and gets to his feet. Ernst with a poor takedown and Tatsuki counters with a right hand to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A slow jab from Ernst misses its intended target. Ernst shoots in looking for a takedown but Tatsuki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ernst's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mayuri Tatsuki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Ernst. Tatsuki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ernst's hands. Tatsuki throws a right and a left that Ernst avoids nicely. Tatsuki throws a leg kick which misses Ernst's front leg but catches the back leg as Ernst tries to avoid it. Tatsuki lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Ernst shoots in but no luck this time. Ernst misses with the combination.
Tatsuki connects with a right hand. Ernst shakes it off. Ernst throws a jab but it's blocked by Tatsuki. Ernst misses the shot to the body. Ernst has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tatsuki finds it's way round the side to connect with Ernst's head. Tatsuki throws a lazy right hand but Ernst sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Tatsuki is looking to slow Ernst down with leg kicks. Tatsuki moves into range and connects with a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Ernst. Tatsuki does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tatsuki ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ernst throws a hook but Tatsuki blocks it. Ernst scores with a nice strike. Tatsuki lunges at Ernst with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ernst's hand. Tatsuki connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Ernst throws a poor cross that misses
and Tatsuki counters with a two punch combo. Tatsuki lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Ernst with a lazy takedown attempt and Tatsuki cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Tatsuki works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Ernst is rocked! Tatsuki steps in with a hook that catches Ernst right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Tatsuki follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Ernst looks absolutely devastated.
