Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Ferguson! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lewis moves into the clinch. Lewis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A leg kick checked by Lewis. Ferguson swats away the attempt to clinch by Lewis. Ferguson tries for a takedown but Lewis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ferguson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lewis fails in his attempt to clinch. Lewis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Ferguson looking for a sweep but Lewis has passed into full mount! Oh no! Ferguson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis controlling the position easily from mount. Ferguson wants to hold on but Lewis pushes him away. Lewis sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Ferguson is trying to escape the mount.
Lewis has control of Ferguson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ferguson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Lewis in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferguson tries to lock up and control but Lewis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lewis lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Lewis content just to control the position here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lewis lands a big elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis controlling his opponent. Lewis fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Lewis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lewis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lewis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ferguson for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ferguson tries to reverse the position but Lewis maintains control. Lewis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
We're going to have a standup here because John Lewis wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Lewis tries to clinch but Ferguson moves out of range. Ferguson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lewis paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lewis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Lewis pulls Ferguson into guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ferguson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lewis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ferguson has managed to get both his arms back between Lewis's legs - danger averted. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ferguson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Lewis dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Ferguson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lewis circles away quickly and effectively. Ferguson misses with a body shot.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Ferguson enables Lewis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ferguson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ferguson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lewis's guard. Lewis manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Lewis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis avoids the attempt from Ferguson to control. Lewis goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ferguson turns into him and now he's in Lewis's guard.
John Lewis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lewis keeping moving, preventing Ferguson from controlling successfully. Ferguson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferguson is thwarting Lewis's attempts to control the position. It looks like Ferguson is going to stand back up.
Ferguson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Ferguson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lewis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ferguson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lewis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ferguson. Ferguson is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis manages to get to full guard.
Lewis is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ferguson rolls with it to try and escape but Lewis cranks on the arm and Ferguson is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Lewis! John Lewis opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
