Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Koscheck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koscheck comes to the cage accompanied by Can't Stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers. Alves has chosen Dirt on your shoulders as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koscheck shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Koscheck throwing strikes from guard but Alves blocks nicely.
Koscheck throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Koscheck drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Koscheck jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Alves wants to get back to his feet but Koscheck is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Alves moves out of range of the strikes.
Koscheck shoots in but Alves avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Alves fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Thiago Alves is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Koscheck shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alves but Alves pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Alves displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Koscheck.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Koscheck. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Koscheck shoots in looking for a takedown but Alves manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Koscheck's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Koscheck is breathing heavily.
Alves fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Alves thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Koscheck if he has to take too many more of those.
A right-left combo lands from Alves.

Alves connects with an inside leg kick.
Koscheck walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Alves scores with a push kick.
Alves thumps Koscheck with a low kick.
Alves jabs Koscheck to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Alves feints and then cracks Koscheck's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Koscheck down.
Alves's corner calls for a 1-2. Alves obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Alves fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Koscheck.
Alves lands with a kick to the temple. Koscheck shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Alves connects with an inside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alves lands a jab-cross combination.
A left and a right from Alves both land. Nice combination.
Koscheck is rocked!
Alves lands a big right hook! Koscheck looks hurt but is still standing! Alves lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Koscheck falls down and Alves dives in with a huge hammer fist! Koscheck's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Alves runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Thiago Alves!
