Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Pena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Cormier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Pena! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pena tries for a takedown but Cormier sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Pena shoots in for a takedown but Cormier shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Horrible takedown by Cormier or perhaps it was just good defense by Pena which made him look bad. Pena throws a sloppy head kick and Cormier moves out of range easily. Pena fails to land with a series of punches.

Cormier drives through with a takedown into Pena's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Cormier wants to pass the guard but Pena is keeping the position. Pena is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Cormier could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Cormier tries to free his leg and advance position but Pena is retaining full guard. Cormier throws an elbow that misses. Pena uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cormier's guard. Nice move by Pena!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cormier keeping moving, preventing Pena from controlling successfully. Pena postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Pena was stalling too much, according to the referee. Pena tries for a takedown but Cormier circles away easily and Cormier counters with a single leg into guard. Pena didn't expect that. Daniel Cormier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Pena.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cormier trying to control the position from guard on top but Pena is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pena trying to control the position.
Pena pushes Cormier off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Horrible takedown by Cormier or perhaps it was just good defense by Pena which made him look bad. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pena tries for a takedown but Cormier circles away easily and Cormier counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cormier. Pena looks gassed! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pena is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pena is fighting to break Cormier's control of his arms but Cormier is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Cormier's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Pena won't allow Cormier to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pena is looking to stand up but Cormier won't let him.
We're going to have a standup here because Daniel Cormier wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Pena pushes Cormier up against the cage in a clinch. Pena is trying to break the clinch but Cormier is controlling him. Pena is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Cormier is defending well. Pena wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cormier has him pressed against the cage. Cormier is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cormier is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pena gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Pena successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cormier in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Cormier dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Pena misses with a low kick as Cormier jumps back. Cormier slips a jab and a cross from Pena.
Pena has his takedown stuffed and Cormier counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pena won't be happy with that. Cormier cracks Pena with an elbow. That is naaassty. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cormier connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Pena some visible discomfort.
Cormier creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. This has been an exciting period of action! Cormier cracks Pena with a big elbow. Cormier throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Pena is breathing heavily. Pena takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cormier cracks Pena with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Pena is rocked! Pena manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Pena is still in real trouble! Can Cormier finish him? Cormier wants to improve his position but Pena is controlling well.
Pena seems to have recovered his senses. Pena is keen to just control but Cormier is a slippery customer. Cormier is trying to control but can't.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mike Pena wasn't active enough on the ground. Cormier looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cormier defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pena. Cormier avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cormier decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Cormier sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pena defending well though. Pena is trying to get back to full guard. Cormier trying to control from half guard but Pena is working away. Cormier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pena on the ground. Cormier trying to pass the guard but Pena defending well. Cormier thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Pena is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cormier scores with a couple of nice shots. Cormier is thwarting Pena's attempts to control the position. Cormier is stalling here. Pena is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cormier seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pena has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pena wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cormier, who protects the arm well. Cormier is looking to regain half guard here but Pena keeps moving and retains side control. Pena tries to stand but Cormier is controlling his head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pena tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Cormier dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Cormier keeps the fight on the outside. Cormier fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pena avoids it really well and circles away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pena is defended easily by Cormier. Pena shoots in for a takedown but Cormier shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Pena tries to clinch up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cormier keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Daniel Cormier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Pena. Pena will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Pena takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pena drives through and clinches with Cormier against the cage.
Cormier drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pena gets the underhooks and prevents it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Pena creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Pena is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pena is trying to maintain a safe position but Cormier gets an underhook and turns Pena into the cage. Cormier is trying to drag Pena to the mat but Pena just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Pena looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Pena looking to stall.
Pena is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cormier stops Pena from standing up. Cormier wants to control from the top but Pena keeps moving. Cormier postures up in Pena's guard and throws a big left but Pena blocks it. Cormier trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Cormier is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Cormier lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Cormier wants to control from the top but Pena keeps moving. Cormier with a flurry of punches that miss. Cormier landing with the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cormier distracts Pena with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Cormier works over Pena with some ground and pound from guard. Cormier is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Pena throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Cormier postures up and lands a big shot to Pena's brow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cormier postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Cormier lands a couple of decent looking shots. Cormier keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pena's head. Cormier scoring with some ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cormier works over Pena with some ground and pound from guard. Cormier distracts Pena with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Mike Pena has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cormier postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Cormier showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cormier, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
