Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Madsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dark Matter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dark Matter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Madsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dark Matter! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Matter with that takedown attempt. Madsen takes the fight into the clinch. Matter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Madsen throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Matter blocks a head kick by Madsen.
Madsen tries to clinch but Matter is having none of it. Matter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Matter tries to keep at a distance but Madsen has taken the fight into the clinch. Matter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Madsen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Matter. Mark Madsen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dark Matter. Matter leaves Madsen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Matter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matter trying to control from half guard but Madsen is working away. Matter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Madsen has managed to free his arm - good work. Madsen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Matter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Madsen sees it coming and defends easily. Madsen trying to hold on to Matter's head to control him but Matter postures up.
Matter decides to stand and escape the position. Matter dives in and grabs Madsen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Madsen pushes down on Matter's head and hops out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matter shoots in but Madsen avoids the takedown attempt easily. Madsen doesn't succeed with the takedown and Matter counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Madsen is looking to escape. Madsen trying to control but Matter postures up.
Madsen wants to get back to full guard. Matter passes into side control, despite Madsen's attempt to control the position.
Matter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Madsen, who protects the arm well. Madsen can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matter stands up and we're back to a striking position. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Matter is defended easily by Madsen. Matter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Madsen tries to avoid it but Matter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Madsen to the ground. Madsen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Madsen tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Matter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Horrible takedown by Matter or perhaps it was just good defense by Madsen which made him look bad. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Matter. Matter fails to land the takedown. Matter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Madsen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Madsen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Matter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Madsen somewhat. Matter shoots in but no luck this time. Matter moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Matter fails to land the takedown. Madsen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Madsen wants to clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Madsen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Madsen shoots in looking for a takedown. Matter tries to sprawl out of it but Madsen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Matter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dark Matter dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Matter shoots in looking for a takedown but Madsen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Matter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Matter shoots in but no luck this time. Matter closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Madsen quickly recovers to half guard. Madsen wants to control but Matter is keeping busy and won't allow it. Matter prevents Madsen from improving his position. Matter seems to be working for a kimura but Madsen defends the submission attempt. Madsen is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Matter seems to have locked his on tight now - Madsen screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Matter, as he picks up the win!
