The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels shoots in but no luck this time.
A right-left combo lands from Savanis.
Daniels fails to land the takedown.
Daniels misses with an uppercut.
Daniels misses with a takedown
and Savanis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pete Daniels. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Savanis scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Savanis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Daniels with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Daniels tries to get to full guard but Savanis has control of the leg.
Savanis is looking for a kimura but Daniels is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Savanis to get the leverage.
Daniels is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Savanis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Savanis trying to control the action but Daniels is working from the bottom.
Daniels wants to improve his position but Savanis is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Daniels is trying to control but Savanis manages to pass to mount!
Savanis is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Daniels can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Daniels tries to hold on but Savanis pushes him away.
Daniels is working to get back to half guard.
Savanis in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Daniels is rocked!
Savanis loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Daniels scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Savanis land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Savanis stands and salutes the crowd.
