Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kengo Watanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junko Hatoru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kengo Watanabe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Junko Hatoru!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatoru looks to land a combination but Watanabe avoids it well.
Watanabe throws a jab when Hatoru was well out of range.
Hatoru misses with a wild combination.

It looks like Junko Hatoru has been cut.

Hatoru stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hatoru wants it to stay on the feet.
Watanabe swings for the body but Hatoru moves out of range.
Watanabe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hatoru as he jumps to the side.

Kengo Watanabe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hatoru will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hatoru rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Watanabe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Hatoru turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hatoru manages to end up in side control.
Watanabe tries to buck Hatoru off but Hatoru is having none of it.
Hatoru in side control, throwing shots but Watanabe defends.
Watanabe is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hatoru remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Watanabe is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hatoru is controlling him well.
Hatoru is looking to take a break and control but Watanabe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Junko Hatoru comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hatoru has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
