Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Harvey Keppelman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bubba Willis!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willis forces Keppelman back against the cage and clinches.
Keppelman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Willis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Keppelman to the mat. Keppelman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Willis is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Willis postures up in Keppelman's guard and throws a big left but Keppelman blocks it.
Willis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Willis throws a big right hand that misses.
Keppelman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Keppelman has his feet on Willis's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Willis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Willis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Keppelman's head.
Keppelman keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Keppelman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Willis on the ground.
Willis is controlling the pace.
Keppelman is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Willis is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Willis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Keppelman with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Willis is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Willis seems to be working for a kimura but Keppelman defends the submission attempt.
Willis frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Willis is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Willis extends the arm and Keppelman is forced to tap!
