Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Burleigh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holmes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "Unsettling Differences" by Blue Smock Nancy. On his way into the cage it seems that Phil Burleigh has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Phil Burleigh seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burleigh shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Burleigh was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Holmes is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Burleigh is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Burleigh lands with some strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Holmes tries to reverse the position but Burleigh maintains control.
Burleigh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Holmes on the ground.
Burleigh trying to control but Holmes is having none of it.
Burleigh lands a heavy elbow.
Holmes really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Holmes flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Burleigh goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Holmes turns into him and now he's in Burleigh's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holmes won't allow Burleigh to get back to his feet.

Holmes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Holmes passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Burleigh has a hand on Holmes's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Holmes takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Holmes lands with some strikes.

Holmes looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Burleigh wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Holmes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burleigh tries to lock up and control but Holmes gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Holmes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burleigh is looking to escape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Burleigh is looking to get to half guard.
Burleigh is working hard here to advance position.
Burleigh wants to get back to his feet.
Burleigh tries to hold on but Holmes postures up.

Holmes landing shots from mount.
Burleigh is in all sorts of trouble here.
Holmes cracks Burleigh with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Holmes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burleigh is looking to escape.

Holmes working for a submission but Burleigh is keeping him at bay.
Burleigh really wants to buck Holmes off and get back to his feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Holmes prevents Burleigh from getting the reversal.
Burleigh is breathing heavily.
Holmes looking to control and managing it successfully.
Holmes with a couple of short strikes.
Burleigh on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Burleigh tries to get out of the position.
Holmes is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Burleigh can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Holmes throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Burleigh tries to reverse the position but Holmes maintains control.
Holmes trying to control but Burleigh is having none of it.
Holmes landing punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Andre Holmes will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Burleigh shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Holmes's guard.
Burleigh has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Holmes is looking to sinch up a triangle. Burleigh throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Holmes's body to avoid the submission. Holmes has instead reached around Burleigh's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Holmes arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
