Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sigardo Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rickson Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sigardo Vasquez! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva with a lazy takedown attempt and Vasquez counters with a takedown into side control. Vasquez in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Vasquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working. Vasquez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Silva down.
Silva manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Silva is staying active underneath Vasquez, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Vasquez working the head and body with strikes. Vasquez trying to control from Silva's half guard. Silva has other ideas though and has regained full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vasquez working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Silva isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Vasquez stacks Silva on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Vasquez! Vasquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva is trying to get back to half guard. Vasquez tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Vasquez trying to control the position but Silva is working away. Vasquez cracks Silva with an elbow. That is naaassty. You can see the frustration on Silva's face as Vasquez controls the position. Vasquez trying to control the position but Silva is working away. Silva is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasquez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Silva down.
Silva is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Vasquez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Silva moves into full guard.
Silva wants to sweep here but Vasquez controlling him for the moment. Vasquez trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva is looking for a triangle but Vasquez pushes his legs off easily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Silva is looking to sinch up a triangle. Vasquez throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Silva's body to avoid the submission. Silva has instead reached around Vasquez's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Silva arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Rickson Silva! Rickson Silva really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that RMC - $ 11 Shorts! logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
