Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Jones Junior! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Gracie! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Junior works the jab nicely. Junior throws a hook to the side of Gracie's head but Gracie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Gracie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Junior's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gracie stopping the sweep attempt from Junior. Junior working for a triangle but Gracie defends it easily.
Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Junior looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Junior on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Junior tries to get out of the position. Junior working for a triangle but Gracie defends it easily.

Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Junior knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground. Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Junior is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well. Gracie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
