Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Jesus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Santino Marconi!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marconi slips under a jab from Jesus.
Jesus misses with a looping left.
Marconi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jesus.
Jesus throws a low kick, looking for Marconi's leg but Marconi calmly moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Marconi.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Marconi.
Marconi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jesus sprawls well initially but Marconi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Marconi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jesus sees it coming and defends easily.
Marconi seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jesus gets back to full guard.
Jesus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marconi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jesus is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marconi trying to control the position from guard on top but Jesus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Marconi is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Marconi landing with the ground and pound.
Marconi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jesus is proving hard to escape from.
Marconi is working Jesus over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Marconi decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Marconi is looking to clinch but Jesus is avoiding it.
Marconi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jesus counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jose Jesus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Santino Marconi.

Marconi is looking for a triangle but Jesus pushes his legs off easily.
Marconi looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jesus wants to pass the guard but Marconi is keeping the position.
Jesus trying to control but Marconi is working from the bottom.
Marconi working for a triangle but Jesus defends it easily.
Jesus is pushing down on Marconi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Marconi is fighting to maintain full guard but Jesus has managed to sneak the leg through.
Marconi is looking to improve his position.
Jesus working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Jesus is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Marconi gets back to full guard.

Marconi has his foot on Jesus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jesus works his way back into a safe position though.
Jesus drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jesus jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jesus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jesus with a flurry of punches that miss.
Marconi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Marconi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jesus defends it easily.
Marconi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Jesus slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Jesus is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Marconi has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jesus tries to move into full mount but can't pass Marconi's legs.
Jesus wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Marconi, who protects the arm well.
Jesus has an Americana. Marconi didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Jesus is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Jesus hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
