Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Game! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alastair Gridlock! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Game throws a lazy right hand but Gridlock sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Game circles away from the clinch attempt.
Game pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Gridlock ducks under a wild hook from Game. Gridlock clinches up with Game and pushes him back against the cage. Game is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Gridlock is defending well. Gridlock misses with a hook to the ribs.
Game drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gridlock gets the underhooks and prevents it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gridlock creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Gridlock wants to stall.
Game tries to throw a body punch but Gridlock avoids it by throwing Game back against the cage. Game is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Game. That's going to take a lot out of him. Game looking for a takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Game blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Game wants a takedown but no success here.
Game jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gridlock walks away with a smile on his face. Game gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Game jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Game misses the body punch letting Gridlock counter with a right hand. Game stuns Gridlock with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Gridlock throws out a loose jab but Game uses good head movement to avoid it. Game tries to move into range but Gridlock moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Game walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Game throws a leg kick which misses Gridlock's front leg but catches the back leg as Gridlock tries to avoid it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gridlock connects with a crisp jab. Gridlock moves into the clinch. Gridlock with an attempt at a knee that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Game gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Gridlock keeping moving, preventing Game from controlling successfully. Game loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gridlock wants to stand and escape but Game is having none of it. Game looking to pass the guard. Game is fighting to break Gridlock's control of his arms but Gridlock is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Game trying to control but Gridlock is working from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Game connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Game misses with a body shot.
Game ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Game throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Game throws a sloppy head kick and Gridlock moves out of range easily. Game misses with a body shot.
Nick Game seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A swing and a miss from Gridlock. Alastair Gridlock is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gridlock misses with a right hand and Game counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Gridlock slips under a jab. Gridlock swings and misses with a hook to the body.

It looks like Alastair Gridlock has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Game tries to land a leg kick but Gridlock saw it coming and moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Game tries to score with a low kick but Gridlock moves his leg out of the way. Game takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Gridlock moves into the clinch. Game turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Game manages to end up in side control. Gridlock parries the strikes from Game easily there. Game is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gridlock to escape.
Game tries to score with some ground and pound. Gridlock controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Game is trying to get an arm triangle but Gridlock is defending well. Gridlock wants to get back to his feet but Game drags him back down. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Game sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gridlock is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Sloppy strikes there by Game. Game prevents Gridlock from escaping the position. Game throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Game dominated that round. The cut man is working on Alastair Gridlock's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Game with a nice cross. Game misses with a looping left. Game moves away from the strike by Gridlock. Game scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gridlock in his tracks. Game misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gridlock.
Gridlock throws a body punch but Game moves out of range. Gridlock swats away the attempt to clinch by Game. Gridlock uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Game looks to land a left hand but Gridlock moved out of range nicely. Gridlock throws a hook but Game avoids it easily. Gridlock throws a quick inside leg kick. Gridlock goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Gridlock. Game throws a jab but it's blocked by Gridlock. A clash of legs there as Gridlock blocks the low kick. Gridlock is looking to slow Game down with leg kicks. Game tries to close the distance and clinch but Gridlock swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gridlock lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Gridlock jabs Game to the body, keeping him at a distance. Gridlock ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Game moves away. Game throws a leg kick but Gridlock sees it coming and moves out of range. Game misses with a body shot.

Gridlock looks to score with a jab to the body but Game is just out of range. Game takes a jab right on the kisser.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Some bone on bone action there as Gridlock checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Gridlock scores with a nice head shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Game closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gridlock quickly recovers to half guard. Gridlock regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Game. Game throwing strikes but missing. Gridlock wants to stand up but Game is controlling him. Game in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Game accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Game seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Game advances to half guard.

Ground and pound from Game. Game not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Game is looking for a kimura here.
Gridlock looks like he's trying to stand up.
Game lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Game stops Gridlock from getting back to his feet.
Game wants to control but Gridlock is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Game throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Game landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Game thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gridlock is refusing to be controlled, as Game sits in half guard. Gridlock avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Game. Gridlock is trying to stand back up but Game is controlling him
Game is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gridlock defends it well. Gridlock is looking to improve his position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Game throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Game working the head and body with strikes. Game throwing shots but Gridlock is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Game dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Alastair Gridlock's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
A slapping leg kick lands for Gridlock.
Gridlock slips a jab from Game. Gridlock has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Game closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gridlock to the mat! Gridlock manages to get full guard. Game trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gridlock is trying to control the position but Game postures up. Game throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gridlock lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Game! Nick Game overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gridlock is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! The fight stays on the outside here - Game looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Game walks into a stiff left hand from Gridlock. Game fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. A low kick from Game is predictable there and Gridlock counters with a body kick that stops Game in his tracks momentarily. Gridlock sizes up Game with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Gridlock avoids the body shot from Game.
Gridlock misses with a head kick.
Game throws a body punch but Gridlock moves out of range. Game throws a solid leg kick but Gridlock takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Game. Game waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gridlock. Gridlock uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Game.

and Gridlock counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Some bone on bone action there as Gridlock checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Gridlock moves in looking to clinch but Game pushes him off. Gridlock misses with a wild body shot. Nick Game is winning the standup battle so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Game throws a poor cross that misses
and Gridlock counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A solid leg kick lands there for Gridlock.
Gridlock uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Game.
Game takes a swing at Gridlock's ribcage but misses. Gridlock tries to close the distance and clinch up but Game swats him away and circles back towards the center. Game misses with a looping right. Nick Game is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Game is looking to wear down Gridlock with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Gridlock throws a hook but Game blocks it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Game shoots in for a double leg but Gridlock sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Game lands with a thumping leg kick.
Gridlock takes one on the chin but seems OK.

and Gridlock cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A jab from Game misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gridlock misses the jab. Game shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gridlock napping and manages to drive through into side control! Game trying to control the action but Gridlock is working from the bottom. Gridlock is looking to reverse the position. Gridlock is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Game wants to control but Gridlock is keeping him busy. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Game has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Game cracks Gridlock with a big elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gridlock tries to buck Game off but Game is having none of it. Game trying to control the position but Gridlock is working away. Gridlock is looking to reverse the position. Gridlock is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Gridlock takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sloppy strikes there by Game. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Game throwing shots but missing, from side control. A lull in the action here. Gridlock can't do much from the bottom here. Alastair Gridlock has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Game fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Game takes a little break here. Gridlock wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that's the end of the fight! Nick Game showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Game, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
