The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tamone takes the fight into the clinch.
Maci on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Tamone with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Maci is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tamone is defending well for now.
Maci tries to pull guard but Tamone won't allow it.

Maci's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Maci looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tamone throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Maci blocks it with crossed arms.

Tamone doesn't manage to clinch there - Maci circles away.
Tamone pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mario Maci is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Maci keeps the fight on the outside.
Maci shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tamone as he jumps to the side.

Tamone should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tamone passes Maci's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Maci knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tamone on the ground.

Tamone is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maci doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tamone.

Maci is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Maci has his foot on Tamone's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tamone works his way back into a safe position though.

Tamone drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maci dives on top into guard.
Tamone is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Maci stays in close to Tamone's body and controls the position.
Maci prevents Tamone from getting back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Maci slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mario Maci will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Tamone needs to keep his hands up - Maci had a free shot at his head there.
Tamone shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Tamone counters with a three punch combo that has Maci backing up. Maci nods at Tamone to acknowledge the strikes.

Tamone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Maci closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tamone to the mat! Tamone manages to get full guard.
Tamone pushes Maci off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Tamone shoots in looking for a takedown. Maci tries to sprawl out of it but Tamone keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maci manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Maci throws a wild body kick that Tamone sees coming a mile off.
Tamone tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Maci manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mario Maci is winning the standup battle so far.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tamone looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tamone shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maci as he avoids it easily.
