Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Abulos Malso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Niedzwiedz! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Niedzwiedz fails to land the takedown. Niedzwiedz throws a half hearted mid kick. The fight moves into the clinch position. Malso ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Malso no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Malso might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Niedzwiedz gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Niedzwiedz dives in and grabs Malso's left leg, looking for a takedown. Malso pushes down on Niedzwiedz's head and hops out. Malso shoots for a double leg takedown but Niedzwiedz sprawls well. He's pushed Malso's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Niedzwiedz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Malso counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Abulos Malso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Niedzwiedz. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Malso stopping the sweep attempt from Niedzwiedz. Niedzwiedz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Malso doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Malso manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malso is looking to work some ground and pound but Niedzwiedz has wrist control. Niedzwiedz has his foot on Malso's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Malso works his way back into a safe position though. Malso avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Malso tries to free his leg and advance position but Niedzwiedz is retaining full guard. Niedzwiedz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Malso defends well. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Malso is sitting in close to Niedzwiedz's body. Niedzwiedz has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Malso is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Malso is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Niedzwiedz.
