Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Goncalves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eugene Albright! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Albright shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Goncalves has given up his back here.
Goncalves is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Albright.
Albright keeps control of the position as Goncalves tries to break free.
Albright just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eugene Albright hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Albright scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Goncalves is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Albright tries to advance to mount but can't. Goncalves is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Albright is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Albright tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Goncalves working to try and regain half guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Goncalves looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. That's four minutes gone in the round. Albright misses with a takedown attempt - Goncalves sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Daniel Goncalves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eugene Albright. A momentary lapse in concentration from Goncalves enables Albright to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Goncalves manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Albright content to stall in guard here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Goncalves might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Eugene Albright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Albright bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Goncalves tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Albright easily slips into full mount! Albright takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Albright takes Goncalves's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Goncalves is in trouble. Well, with Albright on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Goncalves is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
That's one minute gone in the round. Goncalves wants to control his opponent's hands but Albright gets his hands free. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Albright slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Goncalves has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Goncalves has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Albright is trying to keep an underhook but Goncalves manages to get the takedown into half guard. Albright is trying is best to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
