Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kurri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Torrens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonathan Torrens will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Kurri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonathan Torrens!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torrens lands a nice shot to the body.
Torrens thows a body shot but no joy.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kurri drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Torrens tries to throw a body punch but Kurri avoids it by throwing Torrens back against the cage.
Kurri has had enough of the clinch but Torrens keeps him there for the moment.
Torrens stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Torrens escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Torrens fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Torrens tries a head kick but it misses.
Torrens comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A nice leg kick lands there from Torrens.
Torrens scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Torrens connects with a body shot.
Torrens throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Torrens lands a slapping body shot.
Torrens lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Torrens scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Torrens tries a head kick but it misses.
Torrens lands with a shot to the body.
Torrens lands with a hook. Kurri tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Torrens displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kurri.

Kurri goes for a takedown attempt but Torrens pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Torrens cracks Kurri with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Kurri gets control of Torrens's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kurri will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Torrens wants to get up but he can't break Kurri's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Torrens is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Torrens throws a leg kick which misses Kurri's front leg but catches the back leg as Kurri tries to avoid it.
Torrens is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Torrens lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Torrens closes the distance and clinches.
Torrens struggles to land a body shot inside as Kurri controls his hands.

Torrens throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kurri stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Torrens wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Torrens turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Torrens fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A nice inside leg kick there by Torrens. That's going to slow Kurri down.
Kurri doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Torrens enables Kurri to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Torrens manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Torrens is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kurri rather than just go for the knockout.

Kurri has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Torrens finds it's way round the side to connect with Kurri's head.

Kurri shoots for a double leg takedown but Torrens sprawls well. He's pushed Kurri's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Torrens scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kurri takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Torrens lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Torrens scores with a jab. Kurri acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Torrens throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kurri's head.

Torrens scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kurri doesn't seem bothered though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jonathan Torrens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kurri has Torrens pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Torrens manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Torrens throws a sloppy head kick and Kurri moves out of range easily.

Kurri does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
