Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Kilgore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kilgore comes into the arena with Champion by Chipmunk ft. Chris Brown blaring out of the sound system. The key to victory for Jamal Kilgore has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez misses with an uppercut. Kilgore saw that one coming.

Mendez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kilgore has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mendez has managed to get both his arms back between Kilgore's legs - danger averted.
Mendez throws a strike but Kilgore rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kilgore throws a lazy right hand but Mendez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Kilgore tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mendez was well out of range. Poor timing from Kilgore.

Kilgore thuds his right hand into Mendez's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Mendez feints and as Kilgore raises his hands in defense, Mendez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mendez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kilgore swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mendez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
