Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quick Mick!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lewis's waist but Lewis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mick off to one side.
Mick misses with a head kick.
No joy there for Mick, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mick throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mick tries to land a body kick
and Lewis counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A low kick from Mick misses
and Lewis counters with a head kick.
Lewis throws a right and a left that Mick avoids nicely.
Lewis tries to clinch but Mick is having none of it.
Lewis wants to clinch.

Mick drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mick throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Lewis wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lewis is looking to regain half guard here but Mick keeps moving and retains side control.
Lewis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Lewis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Lewis wants to get back to his feet.

Lewis is refusing to be controlled, as Mick sits in half guard.

Mick not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mick throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Lewis to regain full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Quick Mick.
Mick misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mick circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mick looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mick shoots for a double leg takedown but Lewis sprawls well. He's pushed Mick's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
John Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quick Mick.
Mick looks gassed!

Mick feints and as Lewis raises his hands in defense, Mick changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lewis is trying to keep Mick in close.
Lewis wants to stand up but Mick is controlling him.

Lewis pulls Mick in to control the position.

We're going to have a standup here because John Lewis wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Lewis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mick manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mick misses with a head kick.
Lewis throws a series of strikes that have Mick backpedaling.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lewis.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lewis forces Mick back against the cage and clinches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lewis manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Quick Mick will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Lewis works over Mick's head and body with a nice combination.
Mick rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lewis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mick throws a sloppy head kick
and Lewis counters with a two punch combo.
Lewis dodges the punch combination from Mick.
Lewis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lewis.
Quick Mick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mick wants to clinch.
Mick throws a low kick but Lewis moves out of range easily.
Mick misses with the body kick

and Lewis counters with a single leg into guard. Mick didn't expect that.

Lewis stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch but Mick swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mick is breathing heavily.

Lewis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mick sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lewis somewhat.
Nice sprawl there from Lewis as Mick shoots in.
Lewis lands with a good body shot.
Lewis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mick avoids it really well and circles away.
Mick shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lewis sprawls well. Lewis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mick gets slowly back to his feet.
Mick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lewis closes the distance and pushes Mick back into the cage.

Lewis jumps into guard, dragging Mick to the mat.
Lewis wants to get back to his feet but Mick is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Mick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lewis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Lewis throws a series of strikes that have Mick backpedaling.
Mick keeps the fight on the outside.
Mick fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lewis tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Mick counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lewis won't be happy with that.

Lewis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Lewis is looking to escape.
Lewis moves into full guard.
Mick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lewis is on top in guard.

Lewis stands up from guard. Let's bang!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lewis.

Lewis drives through and clinches with Mick against the cage.
Lewis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mick.

Lewis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lewis scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Mick takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mick fails with the takedown.
Mick takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Lewis fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lewis tries to clinch but Mick is having none of it.
Nice sprawl there from Mick as Lewis shoots in.

Lewis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lewis wants to control but Mick is keeping him busy.

Lewis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Lewis wants to clinch up but Mick keeps it at a distance.

Lewis rushes Mick and presses him up against the cage.

Lewis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lewis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Mick engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Quick Mick.
Mick keeps the fight on the outside.

Mick shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lewis napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lewis gets back to half guard.
John Lewis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lewis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Mick thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lewis's head.
Mick takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lewis has one foot on Mick's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lewis tries to clinch but Mick moves out of range.

John Lewis showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Lewis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
