Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Steinberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Williams! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steinberg throws a wild body kick that Williams sees coming a mile off. Steinberg throws a body punch but Williams moves out of range. Steinberg throws out a loose jab but Williams uses good head movement to avoid it. Steinberg blocks a jab. Steinberg thows a body shot but no joy. Williams takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Steinberg uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Williams. Steinberg connects with a jab. Williams takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Frank Steinberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steinberg scores with a body shot.
Williams misses with an uppercut. Steinberg connects with a single shot there. Steinberg misses with a head kick.
Williams is looking to land body kicks. Williams throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! No joy there for Steinberg, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Williams counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Steinberg! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Steinberg is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Steinberg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground. Williams misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Williams is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Steinberg can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Williams tries to bum rush Steinberg with a series of wild strikes but Steinberg uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Steinberg cracks Williams with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Williams slips a jab and a cross from Steinberg.

Steinberg throws a low kick but Williams avoids it. Williams tries to score a power double leg takedown but Steinberg sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Williams somewhat. Williams throws a nice inside leg kick. Steinberg moves away from the strike by Williams.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steinberg wants to land a leg kick but Williams is out of range. Williams avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Williams shoots for a double leg takedown but Steinberg sprawls well. He's pushed Williams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Williams moves out of range of the strikes. Williams throws a body punch but Steinberg moves out of range. A swing and a miss from Steinberg. Steinberg bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Steinberg ducks under a wild hook from Williams. Williams displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Steinberg throws out the jab. Frank Steinberg is winning the standup battle so far. Steinberg bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Williams's head. Nice sprawl there from Steinberg as Williams shoots in. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Steinberg scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Williams doesn't seem bothered though. Steinberg throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Williams takes one to the side of the head.
Williams has a takedown stuffed. Williams attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Williams takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Steinberg dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Williams fails with the takedown. Williams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Steinberg feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Williamss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
