Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pekka Lipponen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Linic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lipponen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rainbow - Man on the Silver Mountain. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Linic works the jab nicely.
Linic shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lipponen defends it nicely.
Linic throws out a leg kick but Lipponen moves out of range and Linic only half commits.
Lipponen clinches up with Linic and pushes him back against the cage.

Linic jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lipponen walks away with a smile on his face. Linic gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Linic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mario Linic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lipponen shoots in for a takedown but Linic shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Linic closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lipponen is refusing to be controlled, as Linic sits in half guard.
Linic is trying for a kimura here. Lipponen looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Linic wins by kimura!

A determined Mario Linic didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
