Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Spartacus Gladius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yu Wi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Spartacus Gladius has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Spartacus Gladius seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Spartacus Gladius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yu Wi!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gladius doesn't manage to clinch there - Wi circles away.
Gladius chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Gladius tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wi.
Gladius closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wi's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wi wants to sweep but no luck.
Wi working a defensive guard but Gladius passes into half guard.
Gladius stalling.
Gladius seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wi for as long as he can get away with.

Gladius prevents Wi from improving his position.
Wi wants to get back to his feet.
Gladius will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Spartacus Gladius wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Gladius lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Wi keeps the fight on the outside.
Wi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gladius is trying to control but can't.
Gladius won't allow Wi to pass to mount.

Gladius is looking to control Wi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gladius avoid being mounted?
We're going to have a standup here because Spartacus Gladius wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Wi closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gladius's guard.
Wi trying to control the position from guard on top but Gladius is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gladius is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gladius keeping moving, preventing Wi from controlling successfully.
Wi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gladius works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Gladius looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wi is one step ahead there.
Wi looking to sit in guard and control but Gladius gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wi keeping moving, preventing Gladius from controlling successfully.
Wi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gladius is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gladius wants to clinch.

Wi throws a hook but Gladius blocks it.
Wi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gladius napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wi is looking to take a break and control but Gladius is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gladius is trying to get back to half guard.
Gladius holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wi working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Spartacus Gladius will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Wi closes the distance and clinches.
Wi lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Wi is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Gladius to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Wi looking to sit in guard and control but Gladius gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Wi is looking to stand up but Gladius isn't so interested in that idea.

Gladius advances to half guard.
Gladius is looking to take a break and control but Wi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gladius content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Wi is not content to let Gladius control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Spartacus Gladius just wasn't active enough.
Wi shoots in for a takedown but Gladius shows good takedown defense.
Wi drives through and clinches with Gladius against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gladius breaks from the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gladius looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A head kick by Wi misses
and Gladius counters with a head kick. That will keep Wi thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Horrible takedown by Gladius or perhaps it was just good defense by Wi which made him look bad.
Gladius shoots for a takedown but Wi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gladius tries to clinch but Wi is having none of it.
Wi is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gladius's half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gladius is just riding it out for now. Wi eventually gives up the hold.
Gladius holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wi throwing shots but Gladius is blocking nicely.
Gladius is trying to maintain the position but Wi is very close to passing his half guard.
Wi thows a huge punch but Gladius dodges it nicely.
Gladius is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wi's back!
Gladius is working for a rear naked choke. Wi is not defending it well and Gladius has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Wi refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Wi's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Spartacus Gladius!
Spartacus Gladius decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
