1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Santos! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ortiz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Santos pinned against the cage. Santos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Santos darts in trying to clinch and Ortiz counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Ortiz prevents Santos from standing back up.
Ortiz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Santos doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ortiz. Ortiz is working for a kimura but Santos is defending it quite comfortably.
Santos is trying to stand up here but Ortiz is controlling him well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ortiz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Ortiz is looking for a kimura but Santos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ortiz to get the leverage. Ortiz is working for a kimura but Santos is defending it quite comfortably.

Santos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ortiz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ortiz maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Santos could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Ortiz has cracked it and Santos is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Ortiz!
