Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dixon might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dark Tranquillity - Iridium. Joey Dixon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

26 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Lucas! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Dixon or perhaps it was just good defense by Lucas which made him look bad. Lucas works the jab nicely.
It looks like Joey Dixon has been cut. Dixon lands a head shot. Lucas moves away from the strike by Dixon. Lucas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nice takedown defense from Lucas. No joy for Dixon on that attempt. Dixon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lucas swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joey Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lucas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Joey Dixon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dixon is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lucas's half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lucas is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lucas working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dixon. Lucas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dixon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lucas keeping moving, preventing Dixon from controlling successfully. Lucas can't keep his opponent in guard - Dixon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas is looking to take a break and control but Dixon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Travis Lucas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Dixon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lucas. Lucas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dixon moves away. Dixon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joey Dixon. Dixon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joey Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dixon shoots for a takedown but Lucas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A momentary lapse in concentration from Lucas enables Dixon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lucas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lucas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dixon controls the pace.
And that's the end of the fight! Joey Dixon showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dixon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
