Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Frazier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leon Maes! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frazier throws a right and a left that Maes avoids nicely. Frazier misses with a looping left. Frazier fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Maes takes one to the side of the head.
Frazier misses with a straight right. The crowd cheers as Frazier lands an impressive looking overhand right. Maes doesn't seem phased though. Maes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Frazier. Frazier bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Frazier bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Maes's head backwards. Maes just misses with a punch to the body.
Frazier paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Frazier fails to land with a series of punches.
Maes keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Frazier. A combination from Frazier does no damage. Frazier misses with a right hand and Frazier takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Joe Frazier has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Frazier uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Maes.
Maes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Frazier. Nice straight punches there by Frazier. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Frazier.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maes tries to move into range but Frazier moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Sloppy strikes from Maes. Those never looked like landing. Frazier is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. The fighters circling - Frazier throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Maes on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Frazier, as that shot connected.
A telegraphed right hand from Frazier misses the target. Frazier fails to land with a series of punches.
Maes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Frazier. Joe Frazier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Frazier connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Maes throws a series of punches but Frazier moves out of range. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Frazier!
Sloppy strikes from Maes. Those never looked like landing. Maes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Frazier. Frazier cracks Maes with an open hand slap. Frazier thows a body shot but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Frazier throws a big shot that misses. Maes takes one to the chin there. Sloppy strikes from Frazier. Those never looked like landing. Frazier throws a right hand that misses
and Maes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Danga de danga de dang - Frazier scores with a four punch combination! Maes just misses with a punch to the body.

Maes is rocked! Frazier looks to land a left hand but Maes moved out of range nicely. Maes is still on wobbly legs! Can Frazier finish him? Frazier connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Maes to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Frazier!
