Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Lazarus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Haws (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lazarus's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Never Go Full Retard!. Haws has chosen The Garden's All Nighters as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kirk Lazarus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Haws! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lazarus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Lazarus misses with a takedown and Haws counters with a three punch combo that has Lazarus backing up. Lazarus nods at Haws to acknowledge the strikes. Lazarus moves out of range of the body kick from Haws.
Haws throws a series of punches but Lazarus avoids them all with ease. Lazarus shoots in but Haws avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kirk Lazarus. That's going to take a lot out of him. Some wild striking there from Haws.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haws throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Jon Haws is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lazarus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Haws but Haws pushes him off and we're back to square one. Haws connects with the punch. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Lazarus dodges the punch combination from Haws.

A shot to the body from Haws misses and Lazarus decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Haws's guard. Haws not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Haws working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lazarus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lazarus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haws looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lazarus is one step ahead there. Haws looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Haws can't keep hold of the triangle and Lazarus manages to pass to side control! Haws isn't going anywhere. Haws is trying to work for a sweep but Lazarus has mounted him! Lazarus stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice takedown defense from Haws. No joy for Lazarus on that attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lazarus stacks Haws on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lazarus! Haws tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lazarus wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Haws struggling a bit here. Lazarus decides to take the fight back to the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haws fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lazarus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Lazarus get's back to his feet. Haws wants to clinch up but Lazarus keeps it at a distance. Haws throws a right hand that Lazarus ducks under and follows up with a left that Lazarus also avoids with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lazarus avoids the body shot from Haws.
Lazarus moves out of range of the body kick. Haws works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Lazarus blocks the body kick.

and Lazarus counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lazarus.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haws is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Haws looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Haws is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Lazarus stands up and waves to Haws to follow him. Nice takedown defense from Haws. No joy for Lazarus on that attempt. Jon Haws has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
