Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leopold Stotch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gordon comes into the arena with Parkway Drive - Frostbite blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stotch shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gordon sprawls well. Gordon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stotch gets slowly back to his feet.

and Gordon counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Gordon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Stotch misses with a takedown attempt
and Gordon counters with a nice body shot.
Ben Gordon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leopold Stotch.
Stotch shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gordon counters with a nice uppercut.

Stotch fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gordon sprawls well initially but Stotch persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gordon gets back to full guard.
Stotch wants to pass the guard but Gordon is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gordon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stotch is one step ahead there.

Stotch sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Gordon doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Stotch paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Gordon - great work!
