With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vaughn Shaunessey!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaunessey throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Shaunessey ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sirkiä uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shaunessey.
Shaunessey thows a leg kick but Sirkiä checks it
and Sirkiä counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Vaughn Shaunessey has been cut.

Oooh a lovely combination from Sirkiä sends Shaunessey down but not out. Sirkiä dives into side control looking to finish.


Shaunessey is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Sirkiä misses with the ground and pound.
Shaunessey is still in real trouble! Can Sirkiä finish him?
Sirkiä lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Shaunessey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sirkiä. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shaunessey pushes Sirkiä away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sirkiä gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Shaunessey is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Sirkiä has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Shaunessey seems to have recovered his senses.
Sirkiä in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Shaunessey looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Sirkiä turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
