PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Osko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Osko's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Selling the Wind. Harris has chosen Elevator muzik as his entrance music. Paul Harris will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josh Osko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Harris!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osko lands with a straight right. Harris didn't see that one coming.
Harris blocks a leg kick.
Osko moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
The fight stays on the outside here - Harris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Osko walks into a stiff left hand from Harris.
Harris is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Osko.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Harris.
Osko swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Harris thows a left - swing and a miss!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Harris pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Harris throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Osko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Harris cracks Osko with an open hand slap.
The fighters circle momentarily. Harris darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Harris connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
A head kick misses from Osko.
Osko throws a series of punches but Harris moves out of range.
Osko avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Harris tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Harris moves away from the strike by Osko.

and Osko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Osko.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Osko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Osko postures up in Harris's guard and throws a big left but Harris blocks it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Osko working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Harris's head.
Harris is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Harris prevents Osko from improving his position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Josh Osko will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Osko will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Harris has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Harris connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Osko momentarily.

Osko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Harris throws a front kick aimed at Osko's knee but Osko avoids it well.

Harris misses with an uppercut. Osko saw that one coming.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Paul Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Osko tries to bum rush Harris with a series of wild strikes but Harris uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Harris takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Osko wants to slow Harris down by chopping away at his legs.
Osko bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Osko looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Harris with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Harris is defending against the submission attempts here by Osko.
Harris is looking for a sweep. Osko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Osko wants to take a breather but Harris is having none of it.
Osko is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Osko is nestled in close to Harris, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Osko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harris does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Osko looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Harris with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Osko working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Osko connects with a nice short shot to Harris's temple.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Josh Osko tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
