The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Prescott gets a takedown into half guard. Prescott frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kray defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Prescott. Kray trying desperately to get to his feet.
Prescott breaks from Kray's wrist control and lands an elbow. Kray's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Prescott lands a nice shot to the head. Prescott looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Kray really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Prescott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kray is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Kray has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Prescott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Prescott looking for the choke but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kray is trying to stand back up. Kray looks gassed! Prescott is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Kray with him. Kray is trying to defend but Prescott has an arm under the chin now! Kray grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Marcus Prescott!
