Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jumbo Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Murthy!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murthy avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Murthy closes the distance and clinches up with Joe, looking for a takedown. Murthy pushes Joe against the cage but Joe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Murthy walks into a stiff left hand from Joe.
It looks like Kevin Murthy has been cut.
Joe fails in his attempt to clinch.
A punch combination from Joe misses.
Joe stuffs the takedown attempt from Murthy. Murthy gets slowly back to his feet.
Joe scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Joe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Murthy dives in and grabs Joe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Joe pushes down on Murthy's head and hops out.
Jumbo Joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Murthy.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Joe scores with a hook.
Joe wants to clinch.
Murthy on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Jumbo Joe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Joe drops Murthy with a beautiful combination! Murthy stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Joe is looking for the KO!
Murthy is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
OH! Murthy has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Joe smells blood and charges in for the finish! Joe unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Murthy sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jumbo Joe!
