Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Gryphen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lars Lamzak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lars Lamzak has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Forrest Gryphen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lars Lamzak! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from Lamzak misses the target. Gryphen lands the left hand. Lamzak takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Lamzak stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Gryphen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lamzak. Lamzak misses with a body shot.
Lamzak shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Gryphen scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Lamzak missing with a left hand there. Gryphen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gryphen, right into the meat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gryphen moves in looking to clinch but Lamzak pushes him off. Lamzak is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gryphen. Gryphen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lamzak tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lamzak looking for a sweep but Gryphen has passed into full mount! Oh no! Gryphen wants to control the pace but Lamzak is squirming around nicely. Gryphen controlling from mount. Lamzak has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Gryphen's lack of action.
Gryphen is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Lamzak reverses the position - he's now on top in Gryphen's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gryphen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gryphen keeping moving, preventing Lamzak from controlling successfully. Gryphen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gryphen wants to hit a switch here but Lamzak passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Gryphen there! Gryphen tries to lock up and control but Lamzak gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Gryphen can't escape the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lamzak takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gryphen is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamzak is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gryphen to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gryphen shrugs it off. Gryphen sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gryphen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lamzak is working away from the top position though. Gryphen regains full guard. Nicely done. Gryphen wants to sweep here but Lamzak controlling him for the moment. That's four minutes gone in the round. Lamzak trying to control the position but Gryphen is working away. You can see the frustration on Gryphen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Lamzak tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lamzak has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gryphen is pushing Lamzak's head away, looking to escape. Lamzak manages to hold on to the position though. Lamzak is looking to take a break and control but Gryphen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lamzak taking a break here but Gryphen is having none of it and regains half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lamzak is trying to control. Gryphen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Forrest Gryphen dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Lamzak misses with a takedown attempt - Gryphen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Lamzak gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Lamzak tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gryphen just stands there and leans against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Lamzak fails to land. Gryphen crunches a lovely knee into Lamzak's ribcage.

Lamzak jumps guard but Gryphen stands there with Lamzak around his waist. Lamzak gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Forrest Gryphen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lars Lamzak. Gryphen working aggressively here.

Lamzak is trying to drag Gryphen to the mat but Gryphen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Gryphen lands a hook that snaps the head of Lamzak backwards.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gryphen creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Gryphen lands a big right hand that drops Lamzak! The killer instinct kicks in and Gryphen finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Gryphen!
