The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Josh Barnett has been cut.
Ryan Hunt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hunt connects with a jab.
Hunt moves in looking to clinch but Barnett pushes him off.
Hunt lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Barnett swats away the attempt to clinch by Hunt.
Hunt wants to clinch up but Barnett keeps it at a distance.
Hunt tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Barnett counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hunt won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Barnett thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Barnett tries for a kimura but Hunt is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt is trying to buck Barnett off.

Barnett has hold of Hunt's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hunt tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Barnett cranks the arm and Hunt screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hunt, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
