Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dick Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riley Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentine comes into the arena with I Buy the Drugs blaring out of the sound system. Marshall is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I Shot the Sheriff by Eric Clapton. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dick Valentine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Riley Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshall scores with a sloppy right hand. Valentine should have avoided that one.
Marshall tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Valentine was well out of range. Poor timing from Marshall.
Valentine misses with a looping left.
Marshall cracks Valentine with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Marshall doesn't manage to clinch there - Valentine circles away.
Valentine shoots in for a takedown but Marshall shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Marshall keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Marshall lands a lovely overhand right.
Valentine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Marshall.

Valentine forces Marshall back against the cage and clinches.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Valentine breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Valentine throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Valentine throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Marshall lands a jab to the nose.

Valentine swings for the body but Marshall moves out of range.
Valentine moves out of range of the strikes.
Valentine fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Marshall lands a nice hook to Valentine's body. Valentine takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Marshall throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Valentine throws the left hand but Marshall avoids the punch easily.
Valentine misses with a straight right.
Valentine throws a low kick but Marshall avoids it.
Marshall misses with a two punch combination.

Marshall closes the distance and clinches.
Valentine unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Valentine blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Marshall with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Valentine manages to break the clinch.
An inside leg kick lands from Valentine.
Valentine misses the shot to the body.
Valentine takes a swing at Marshall's ribcage but misses.
Marshall stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Marshall scores with a shot to the body.
Valentine showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Marshall.
Marshall throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Valentine on the side of the head.
Marshall throws a left and a right that both miss
and Valentine counters with a stiff right hand.
Marshall takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Valentine misses with a looping right.
Valentine misses with a straight right.
Marshall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Valentine.
Marshall ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Marshall lands a nice shot to the body.
Marshall displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Marshall jabs at Valentine's body.
Valentine takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Marshall swings for the body but Valentine moves out of range.
Riley Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marshall closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Marshall is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Valentine had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Marshall changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Marshall looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Valentine tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marshall was well out of range. Poor timing from Valentine.
Marshall missing with a left hand there. Valentine was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Valentine throws a jab when Marshall was well out of range.
Valentine fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Marshall moves into range and clinches up with Valentine.
Valentine prevents Marshall from breaking the clinch.
Marshall lands with a short shot to the head.

Valentine pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Marshall misses with a looping right.
Marshall fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A lazy left from Marshall finds it's target.
Marshall lands a nice looking body shot.
Marshall throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Valentine avoids the body shot from Marshall.
Riley Marshall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Marshall tries to clinch there but Valentine circles away.
Valentine scores with a crisp jab that stopped Marshall in his tracks.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marshall walks into a jab.
Valentine takes a swing at Marshall's ribcage but misses.
Marshall moves away from the strike by Valentine.
Marshall throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Valentine on the side of the head.
Marshall shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Valentine throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marshall sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Marshall misses with a jab, cross combination.
Marshall swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Valentine lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Marshall lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Marshall bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Valentine's head backwards.
Marshall uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Valentine has time to react.
Marshall swings for the body but Valentine moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Riley Marshall dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Valentine looks to score with a jab to the body but Marshall is just out of range.
Valentine's corner calls for a 1-2. Valentine obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Marshall looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


Marshall is rocked!
Valentine pounces like a tiger and cracks Marshall with a vicious hook! Marshall is down but not out! Valentine follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
