Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Chimpo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Bearinstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Chimpo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to On The Darkside. Bearinstein has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Bearinstein! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chimpo moves out of range of the strikes. Chimpo darts in and clinches Bearinstein up against the cage. Bearinstein blocks an uppercut.
Chimpo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Chimpo shoots in looking for a takedown. Bearinstein tries to sprawl out of it but Chimpo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bearinstein manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bearinstein shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Bearinstein walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Nice takedown defense from Bearinstein. No joy for Chimpo on that attempt. Chimpo avoids the head kick by Bearinstein.
Bearinstein takes a shot right to the bread basket. A nice leg kick lands there from Bearinstein. Chimpo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bearinstein backs up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Chimpo is looking to chop away at Bearinstein's legs. Bearinstein walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Chimpo checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Chimpo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bearinstein manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Chimpo shoots in for a takedown but Bearinstein shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Chimpo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chimpo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bearinstein manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chimpo moves into range and clinches up with Bearinstein. Chimpo throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Bearinstein looks gassed! Chimpo stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Chimpo gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Chimpo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bearinstein just stands there and leans against the cage. Chimpo pulls guard successfully.
Chimpo keeping moving, preventing Bearinstein from controlling successfully. Chimpo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bearinstein trying to control the position from guard on top but Chimpo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bearinstein being controlled here momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chimpo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bearinstein is one step ahead there. Bearinstein is looking to stand up but Chimpo won't let him. Chimpo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bearinstein really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chimpo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bearinstein would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Chimpo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bearinstein manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Bearinstein takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Chimpo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bearinstein is fending him off so far but Chimpo persists. Nope, Bearinstein circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bearinstein uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chimpo.
Chimpo bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bearinstein's head backwards. Chimpo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Chimpo misses with a takedown and Bearinstein counters with a good low kick that Chimpo was not able to check. Chimpo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bearinstein is trying to defend but Chimpo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Chimpo working the head and body with strikes. Chimpo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Chimpo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bearinstein does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chimpo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Chimpo is trying to control the action in half guard but Bearinstein is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bearinstein wants to improve his position but Chimpo is controlling well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chimpo lands with a punch from half guard. Bearinstein is staying active underneath Chimpo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chimpo sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bearinstein defending well though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Chimpo dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Bearinstein throws an overhand right that lands on Chimpo's shoulder, as Chimpo tries to avoid the shot. Chimpo looks to score with a jab to the body but Bearinstein is just out of range. Chimpo's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bearinstein under the eye. Nice uppercut there from Chimpo. Chimpo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Chimpo pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Chimpo lands with a straight right. Bearinstein didn't see that one coming. Chimpo fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Chimpo throws a leg kick but Bearinstein checks it. Bearinstein waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chimpo. Chimpo takes a swing at Bearinstein's ribcage but misses. Chimpo lands a two punch combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chimpo misses with a series of wild punches.
Chimpo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bearinstein looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Chimpo misses the shot to the body. Bearinstein is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bearinstein throws a head kick that misses. Chimpo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Chimpo tries to clinch up but Bearinstein circles away and keeps his distance. Bearinstein waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chimpo. Chimpo scores with a three punch combo!
Chimpo connects with a leg kick. Bearinstein looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Bearinstein takes a body punch but keeps moving. Chimpo cracks Bearinstein with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Chimpo fails in his attempt to clinch. Chimpo jabs at Bearinstein's body. Horrible takedown by Chimpo or perhaps it was just good defense by Bearinstein which made him look bad. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Chimpo connects with an inside leg kick. Chimpo clobbers Bearinstein with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. A left and a right from Chimpo both land. Nice combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chimpo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bearinstein's guard. Chimpo passes into half guard. Bearinstein wants to control but Chimpo is keeping busy.
Chimpo is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Chimpo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Chimpo scoring with strikes but Bearinstein is staying in there. Bearinstein is in a horrible position here. Chimpo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Chimpo lands a nice shot to the head.
Bearinstein is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chimpo raining down hammerfists from mount. Bearinstein is still in real trouble! Can Chimpo finish him? Chimpo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Chimpo postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Bearinstein is out cold - huge knockout for Chimpo!
