Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Belin Billet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Billet might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to in your face. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 15 - 2, fighting out of New York, Belin Billet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Woods! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Woods throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Woods walks into a stiff left hand from Billet.
It looks like James Woods has been cut. Billet throws a leg kick that is checked and Woods counters with a shoot takedown. Billet fights it but they end up in guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Billet controls Woods momentarily but Woods frees himself. Billet escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Woods gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Woods postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Woods sitting in guard, not really doing much. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Woods tries to free his leg and advance position but Billet is retaining full guard. Woods trying to control but Billet is working from the bottom. Woods got a little sloppy there for a moment and Billet has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Woods has managed to get both his arms back between Billet's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Billet is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Woods defends well. Billet trying to keep a closed guard but Woods is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Billet working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Woods. Woods slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Woods throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Billet managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Woods.
Billet manages to work his way to half guard, despite Woods's best efforts. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Billet is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Woods tries to control but Billet wriggling away. Billet is looking to improve his position but Woods isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Woods cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Billet is looking to get to half guard. Woods cracks Billet with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Woods wants to control the pace but Billet is squirming around nicely. Woods landing strikes from the mount. Billet is desperately trying to improve his position but Woods has a good base and remains in mount. Woods content just to control the position here. Woods lands a big shot there that rocks Billet but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Woods avoids the attempt from Billet to control. Woods prevents Billet from getting the reversal. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Woods looking to finish Billet with some ground and pound. This is bad for Billet! Billet is squirming around, avoiding Woods's attempts to control the action. Woods fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Woods bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. An elbow from Woods crashes against the mat.
Billet seems a little lost for a moment, as Woods dominates the positioning. Billet sneaks back into half guard. Woods wants to free his trapped foot but Billet is holding on for dear life with his legs. Billet is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Woods pulls his head out easily. Woods trying to control the action but Billet is working from the bottom. Billet wants to control but Woods passes into side.
Woods working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Woods cracks Billet with an elbow. That is naaassty. Billet is not content to let Woods control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woods working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Woods is looking to take a break and control but Billet is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Billet is trying to control Woods's posture but Woods avoids it. Billet tries to get back to half guard but can't. Billet wants to control but Woods postures up. Billet is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Woods. Billet is working to avoid the ground and pound but Woods connects with a decent elbow. Woods wants to control but Billet is keeping him busy. Woods controls the position. Woods working the ground and pound but Billet is defending the strikes. Woods works his way into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Woods wants to control but Billet is keeping him busy. Billet staying out of range there. Woods scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Billet throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Woods moves forwards but Billet connects with a nice, crisp jab. Good standup being displayed there by Woods as he connects with a hook. Billet misses with a straight right. Billet throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Belin Billet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Woods throws a hook to the side of Billet's head but Billet sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Billet stuns Woods with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Billet shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Woods sprawls well. Woods wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Billet gets slowly back to his feet. Billet fails to land with a series of punches.

That's one minute gone in the round. Woods throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Billet stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Good leg kick by Woods there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Woods lands a jab to the head.

Woods takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Woods shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Billet but Billet pushes him off and we're back to square one. Billet takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Woods throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Billet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A swing and a miss from Billet. Billet throws a sloppy head kick and Woods moves out of range easily. Billet throws a hook but Woods avoids it easily. Billet moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Belin Billet has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woods stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Billet ducks right into an uppercut from Woods. Woods looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Billet! Billet is looking to get to half guard. Woods raining down shots from the mount! Woods landing shots from mount. Billet is bucking up trying to escape but Woods cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Woods has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Billet's face.
Billet wants to control but Woods is having none of it. Woods postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Billet looks a forlorn figure.
