Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Clark Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mannix McGuiness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGuiness has chosen Bare in the Basin - Gaelic Storm as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Clark Richards! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mannix McGuiness! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGuiness is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Richards's half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. McGuiness missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. McGuiness seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Richards does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Richards keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. McGuiness performing his best blanket impression for a moment. McGuiness drops an elbow to the side of Richards's head. McGuiness wants to take a breather but Richards is having none of it. McGuiness perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGuiness thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Richards's head. Nice strikes from McGuiness there. McGuiness takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. McGuiness is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Richards sees it coming and defends easily. Richards on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. McGuiness missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McGuiness wants to pass to mount but Richards is defending the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGuiness drops an elbow to the side of Richards's head. Richards knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGuiness on the ground. McGuiness throwing shots but Richards is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGuiness is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Richards has managed to free his arm - good work. Richards trying to control here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McGuiness trying to control from half guard but Richards is working away. Richards keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Richards is refusing to be controlled, as McGuiness sits in half guard. Ground and pound from McGuiness.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGuiness moves into full mount! Richards won't be happy about that! McGuiness controlling his opponent. McGuiness throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Richards because McGuiness loaded up on that one. McGuiness landing strikes, looking to finish! McGuiness lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
McGuiness has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Richards's face.

Richards tries to hold on but McGuiness postures up. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! McGuiness throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
McGuiness controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mannix McGuiness dominated that round. That's time! Richards's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
McGuiness throws a hook to the side of Richards's head but Richards sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Richards lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McGuiness circles away quickly and effectively. Richards lands a two punch combo.
McGuiness shoots for a takedown but Richards saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. McGuiness misses with a head kick.
Mannix McGuiness seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McGuiness swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Richards. McGuiness dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Richards. That did some damage! No luck with that takedown attempt from McGuiness. Clark Richards is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Richards finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from McGuiness. Richards does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGuiness throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Richards tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McGuiness is in Richards's guard. McGuiness lands a couple of digs. McGuiness with a flurry of punches that miss. Richards avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. McGuiness throwing strikes from guard but Richards blocks nicely. Richards preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. McGuiness postures up in Richards's guard and throws a big left but Richards blocks it. McGuiness throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Richards looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. McGuiness trying to control but Richards is working from the bottom. Richards is looking for a triangle here but McGuiness uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
McGuiness advances nicely into full mount. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McGuiness landing shots from mount. McGuiness putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! McGuiness takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Richards in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGuiness lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. McGuiness looking to finish Richards with some ground and pound. This is bad for Richards!
Richards is rocked! McGuiness unloading with bombs! Oh Richards is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! McGuiness goes for an armbar but Richards turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Richards. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Richards has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing McGuiness to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Richards is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - McGuiness pulls down on the head and he's put Richards to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mannix McGuiness! After winning the bout, Mannix McGuiness thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
