Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Guida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knox comes to the cage accompanied by Something I Can Never Have. Guida has chosen Stupid Kid - Alkaline Trio as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Mickey Knox has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mickey Knox seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Knox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Guida! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knox keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Guida fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Knox forces Guida back against the cage and clinches. Guida tries a knee to the head but Knox blocks it.
Knox has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Guida after a bit of a struggle. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Guida just misses with a elbow thrown towards Knox's brow. Knox jumps guard but Guida turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Knox misses with a punch on the inside.
Guida lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Mickey Knox has been cut. Guida landing knees to the head.
Knox doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Guida misses with a knee to the head. Guida lands a nice elbow. Guida comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Knox blocks an elbow strike. Guida lands a right hand that snaps the head of Knox backwards. Guida pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Knox dodges an elbow strike from Guida.

Knox is trying to drag Guida to the mat but Guida just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mickey Knox. That's going to take a lot out of him. Knox is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Guida is keeping busy. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Guida blocks a body shot from Knox. Knox avoids a wild elbow strike from Guida. Knox scores with an uppercut up the middle. Knox blocks an elbow strike from Guida.
Guida creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Guida will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Knox up against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Knox is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Guida just misses with a elbow thrown towards Knox's brow. Guida is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A head punch on the inside from Knox fails to land. Guida looks to throw an elbow but misses. Knox tries to throw a body punch but Guida avoids it by throwing Knox back against the cage. Knox can't find room to land a body shot as Guida controls the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knox dodges an elbow strike from Guida.
Knox throws a knee to the head but misses.
Guida lands an elbow just above Knox 's eye. Knox tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Guida smiles and moves away.
Knox checks a low kick from Guida. Knox jabbing away but nothing is landing. Guida fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Guida stuffs the takedown. Knox fails with a takedown attempt. Some bone on bone action there as Knox checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Sloppy strikes from Knox. Those never looked like landing. Guida scores with a push kick. Knox darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Guida throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Knox was covering up waiting for the punch and Guida finishes the takedown easily into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Guida controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Knox looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Guida controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Knox has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Guida can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Guida content to stall in guard here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Guida accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ray Guida dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mickey Knox's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Guida turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Knox lands a body shot.
Knox checks a leg kick nicely. Guida tries a low kick but Knox avoids it. Guida throws a chopping leg kick but Knox manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Guida misses the jab. Knox shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Guida doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Knox throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Guida works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Knox scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Knox advances to half guard. Knox is looking to take a break and control but Guida is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Guida tries to get to full guard but Knox has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guida is trying to control but can't.
Guida desperately trying to maintain half guard. Guida wants to get back to his feet. Knox wants to control but Guida is keeping him busy. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Guida scores with a head kick. Knox tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Knox shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Guida but Guida pushes him off and we're back to square one. Knox stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Guida. Guida doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knox shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Guida as he avoids it easily. Knox blocks a jab. Knox throws a lazy uppercut
and Guida counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Knox clinches with his opponent.
Guida looking to slow down the pace here. Guida lands an elbow that stopped Knox in his tracks for a moment. A short right hand to the side of the head by Knox. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Guida lands an elbow inside that Knox shrugs off. Guida taking a breather. Knox pulls guard successfully.
Guida trying to control but Knox is working from the bottom. Knox has his foot on Guida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Guida works his way back into a safe position though. Guida wants to control from the top but Knox keeps moving.

Knox is looking for a triangle but Guida pushes his legs off easily.
Guida trying to control but Knox is working from the bottom. Guida wants to get up but he can't break Knox's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Guida is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Knox is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Knox looking to control.
Guida slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Knox looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guida looking to pass the guard. Knox controls Guida momentarily but Guida frees himself. That was a close second round but I would say that Mickey Knox will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Mickey Knox's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Knox tries to free his leg and advance position but Guida is retaining full guard. Guida manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Knox manages to get himself to full guard.
Guida postures up in Knox's guard and throws a big left but Knox blocks it. Guida trying to control but Knox is working from the bottom. Guida throwing strikes from guard but Knox blocks nicely. Guida trying to control the position from guard on top but Knox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Knox throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guida postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Knox keeping moving, preventing Guida from controlling successfully. Knox has his foot on Guida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Guida works his way back into a safe position though. Knox working a defensive guard but Guida manages to pass into side control anyway.

Guida trying to control the action but Knox is working from the bottom. Knox is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Guida off and has taken his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knox is not going to allow Guida to sit and survive in this position. Knox is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Knox tries to get the hooks in deep but Guida pushed the leg off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guida trying to control the action but Knox just sinks the hooks in. Guida looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Guida covering up well under a barage of strikes. Guida tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Knox sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Guida tries to lock up and control but Knox gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Knox trying to control but he's not successful this time. Guida wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Knox.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mickey Knox. I think Knox has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by majority decision... Mickey Knox! Mickey Knox spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
