Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Henry Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guster Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles comes into the arena with Don't Fake the Funk by Prince Charles blaring out of the sound system. Spencer is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: A Country Boy Can Survive. Guster Spencer told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Guster Spencer! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charles rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Spencer moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Spencer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Charles sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Charles scores with a hook to the body. Spencer takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Spencer shoots in looking for a takedown but Charles manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Spencer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Charles thows a body shot but no joy. Spencer fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Henry Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guster Spencer. Charles misses with a straight right. Good leg kick by Charles there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Charles throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Spencer takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Charles thuds a left hand into Spencer's body. Charles feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Spencers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Charles connects with a good right hand that stumbles Spencer. Spencer circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Spencer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Charles's waist but Charles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spencer off to one side. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Charles jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Spencer shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Charles swinging wildly here.

Charles comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Charles pushes Spencer up against the cage in a clinch. A head punch on the inside from Spencer fails to land. Charles landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Spencer tries to work over Charles's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Charles lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. A right hand to the body from Spencer.

Charles's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Spencer looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Spencer takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Charles stuffs the takedown. Spencer has a takedown stuffed. Charles lands with a good body shot. Spencer looks gassed!

Charles throws out a powerful jab. Spencer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Charles throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Spencer. Charles loads up on a big right hand but Spencer slips the punch. Charles misses the shot to the body. Charles throws a series of punches but Spencer moves out of range. Charles slaps away a takedown attempt from Spencer, before circling back to the center of the mat. Charles lands a jab. Spencer fails with the takedown and Charles counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spencer closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Spencer fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A jab lands there for Charles. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Charles's corner calls for a 1-2. Charles obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Spencer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Charles counters with a series of strikes. Spencer will be more careful next time no doubt. Henry Charles is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Spencer drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Charles darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Charles misses with a series of wild punches.
Charles tries to close the distance and clinch but Spencer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Charles pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Spencer back to the cage. Charles follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Charles lands a jab to Spencer's midsection. Spencer shoots in and drives through. Charles sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Henry Charles dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Spencer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Charles finds it's way round the side to connect with Spencer's head. Charles connects with the punch. Spencer is trying desperately to land a takedown but Charles is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Spencer. A punch combination from Charles misses. Spencer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Charles moves in looking to clinch but Spencer pushes him off. Nice takedown defense from Charles. No joy for Spencer on that attempt. Charles goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Spencer on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Spencer throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Charles lands a nice shot that snaps Spencer's head back.
Spencer shoots for a double leg takedown but Charles sprawls well. He's pushed Spencer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Charles misses with a body shot.
Charles feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Spencers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Charles lands a right hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Spencer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Charles. A jab from Charles finds it's way through Spencer's defenses. Spencer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Charles avoids it really well and circles away. Henry Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guster Spencer. Spencer is breathing heavily. Charles stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Charles wants it to stay on the feet. Spencer takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Spencer shoots in for a double leg but Charles sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Charles lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Spencer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Charles defends it nicely. Henry Charles is winning the standup battle so far. Charles scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Charles thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Spencer if he has to take too many more of those.

Charles lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Spencer shoots in looking for a takedown. Charles tries to sprawl out of it but Spencer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Charles manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Charles lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Charles unloads a knee to the mid-section. Spencer lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Charles lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Charles lands on the inside with an uppercut. Charles keeps control of Spencer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Spencer misses with a punch to the body.

And that's the end of the fight! Henry Charles showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Charles, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
