The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pitney darts in and clinches Hernandez up against the cage.
Hernandez goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Pitney with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Hernandez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hernandez misses with a wild combination.
Pitney takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hernandez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pitney counters with a right hand to the body.
Pitney avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hernandez misses with a few strikes there.
Hernandez throws a nice looking combination but Pitney bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hernandez throws a right hand that Pitney ducks under and follows up with a left that Pitney also avoids with ease.
Pitney displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hernandez throws out the jab.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pitney drops back looking for a leg! Hernandez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hernandez manages to kick Pitney off! Pitney jumps back into Hernandez's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pitney stands and throws Hernandez's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hernandez tries to bench press Pitney off him but Pitney keeps the position.

Pitney is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hernandez looks calm but he's in trouble here. Pitney gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hernandez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Pitney lets go of the hold and Hernandez can pop his arm back in it's socket.
