Mesika might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. No, Panetovich has managed to get both his arms back between Mesika's legs - danger averted. Panetovich advances to half guard. Panetovich stalling. Panetovich has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Panetovich working over Mesika with some ground and pound. Mesika looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Mesika could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Panetovich connects with a nice short shot to Mesika's temple. Panetovich landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mesika is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Panetovich seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Mesika is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
