Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eron Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Foster's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lynyrd Skynrd - Sweet Home Alabama. Eron Silva is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Caleb Foster!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eron Silva!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to clinch but Foster moves away

and Foster counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Foster is one step ahead there.

Foster postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Foster, into his guard.

Silva gets to his feet - Foster follows without any prompting.

Foster has his takedown stuffed
and Silva counters with a one-two to the body.
Foster circles away from the clinch attempt

and Foster counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Foster is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Silva is concentrating on defense, preventing Foster from advancing position.

Foster wants to pass the guard but Silva is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Foster is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Silva doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Foster.

Foster is working for a submission of some sort.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Foster tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch.

Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Foster counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Silva's guard now.
Foster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Foster has gone for a leg lock! Silva slips out almost immediately though and dives into Foster's guard.

Silva gets to his feet. Foster looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Foster feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Foster changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Foster postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Foster, into his guard.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Foster is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Caleb Foster overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Silva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Silva must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eron Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Silva closes the distance but Foster moves to the side

and Foster counters with a nice double leg into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Foster tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.

Foster drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Foster has Silva in his guard.

Foster has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Foster has a closed guard, preventing Silva from standing up.

Foster looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva is looking to stand up but Foster won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caleb Foster dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Silva scores with a one two! Foster had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Foster shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Foster swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Silva tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Foster decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Foster postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Foster, into his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Foster is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silva is just riding it out for now. Foster eventually gives up the hold.

Foster is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silva is just riding it out for now. Foster eventually gives up the hold.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Foster, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
